Warm Bodies

'R' is a zombie. He has no name, no memories and no pulse, but he has dreams. He is a little different from his fellow Dead.

Amongst the ruins of an abandoned city, R meets a girl. Her name is Julie and she is the opposite of everything he knows - warm and bright and very much alive, she is a blast of colour in a dreary grey landscape. For reasons he can't understand, R chooses to save Julie instead of eating her, and a tense yet strangely tender relationship begins.

This has never happened before. It breaks the rules and defies logic, but R is no longer content with life in the grave. He wants to breathe again, he wants to live, and Julie wants to help him. But their grim, rotting world won't be changed without a fight.

I've waited so long to read this book. Well of course at first when I watched the movie I didn't know that it is based on a novel. I just found it out earlier this year and downloaded the book. Well, actually I just looked at it at my friend's google drive, almost all on my to-read list was from it so thank you and also to the one who send you thos. Hahaha! Anyways its hard to keep track on the story because I've seen it for over a year ago or so, I forgot some of it but right when I'm reading it even some scenes are different I kind of remember some scenes or glimpse like that and I like it. And also I will try to write a post right after I finish the book because its hard to remember, if it takes a day or so, what to write in this entry. Lesson learned I guess. So that's just it for now. I'll make sure that on my other entries it will have some sense when you read it unlike this one. Ciao!

Love,

Dan

The New Hunger

The end of the world didn’t happen overnight.

After years of societal breakdown, wars and quakes and rising tides, humanity was already near the edge. Then came a final blow no one could have expected: all the world’s corpses rising up to make more.

Born into this bleak and bloody landscape, twelve-year-old Julie struggles to hold on to hope as she and her parents drive across the wastelands of America, a nightmarish road trip in search of a new home.

Hungry, lost, and scared, sixteen-year-old Nora finds herself her brother’s sole guardian after her parents abandon them in the not-quite-empty ruins of Seattle.

And in the darkness of a forest, a dead man opens his eyes. Who is he? What is he? With no clues beyond a red tie and the letter “R,” he must unravel the mystery of his existence–right after he learns how to think, how to walk, and how to satisfy the monster howling in his belly.

The Burning World

R is recovering from death.

He’s learning how to breathe, how to speak, how to be human, one clumsy step at a time. He doesn’t remember his old life and he doesn’t want to. He’s building a new one with Julie.

But his old life remembers him. The plague has another host far more dangerous than the Dead. It’s coming to return the world to the good old days of stability and control and the strong eating the weak, and stopping it will require a frightening journey into the surreal wastelands of America—and the shadowy basement of R’s mind.
