The Hunger Games Trilogy

Oh yes, I've read this one too. Its like I've read all those overrated book series nowadays. Haha! Quite frankly I still can't believe it, I mean all this time who'd have thought that I'm gonna end up reading such novels. Come on seriously, even myself I don't think I can its like its too boring for me. But maybe that was just before when I was young, but now that I'm an adult hah I'm so into this. Hahaha! Such a crazy thought. Anyway enough with these nonsense talk about me and focus on the book. I mean I should write about the book right? Yeah, I admit in my previous posts I dind't indicate anything whatsoever about the book. That's about to change. Yikes! So I'm gonna write about it now sorry if this will take too long. But well actually I googled it so I don't really write it. I mean its not mine but I'm still gonna try to add some. Okay?

Just a little question: "Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone fighting against you?"
Twenty four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see.

The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games follows a 16-year old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 47th Hunger Games in place of her younger sister Prim. Also participating from District 12 is Peeta Mellark, a boy who developed a secret lifelong crush on Katniss the moment he laid eyes on her as a child. They are mentored by District 12's only living victor, Haymitch Abernathy, who won the Games 24 years earlier and has since assumed a solitary life of alcoholism. Peeta professes his love for Katniss in television interview prior to the Games, Leading the Capitol to portray Katniss and Peeta as "star-crossed lovers". This revelation surprises Katniss, who actually harbors feelings for her hunting buddy back home, Gale Hawthorne. Haymitch advises Katniss to play along and act in love with Peeta, in order to gain wealthy sponsors who can gift the supplies during the game. In the arena, Katniss develops an alliance and friendship with a young tribute from District 11, Rue, and is emotionally scarred when she is killed while acting as a decoy. Katniss devises an impromptu memorial for Rue as an act of defiance toward the Capitol. More than halfway through the game, the remaining tributes are alerted to an unprecedented rule change that allows both tributes from the same district to be declared victors if they are the final two standing. After learning of the change, Katniss and Peeta begin to work as a team and spare each others' lives. When all of the other tributes are dead and they appear to win the game together, the provision is reversed at the last moment. requiring one to kill the other. Katniss quickly devises a plan for herself and Peeta to commit double-suicide (denying the Capitol of its precious victor), but they are stopped by the Gamemakers and both return home victorious. During and after the game, Katniss indeed develops strong feelings for Peeta and struggles to balance them with the connection she feels with Gale. When it becomes clear the Capitol is upset with her defiance, Haymitch encourages Katniss to keep up (and even accelerate) the "star-crossed lovers" act without telling Peeta. But still Peeta found out right after. Then they'd just pulled an act for the last time when they were back in their District (as far as I remember).

Catching Fire
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

The Capitol never lets the people forget that rebellion is the reason why the Hunger Games were invented, and Katniss quickly realizes that holding out those berries to save her and Peeta's life did just that. Before they embark on their Victory Tour to each district, President Snow visits the Everdeens, telling Katniss she must convince all the districts, and most of all him, that she and Peeta are truly and deeply in love, or the cost will be devastating. Although she tries hard to do so, an uprising starts in District 11 during their tour. The night of their interview, Peeta ask Katniss to marry him and she said yes, but for President Snow, it wasn't enough. District 12's government was given a new Head Peacekeeper to maintain political control. Furthermore, the Quarter Quell, the 75th Anniversary of the Games, pulls Katniss and Peeta into the violence of the arena once more.

Mockingjay
Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry (as always). The Capitol wants revenge (as well too). Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.

After escaping the arena, Katniss Everdeen is taken to District 13 to take her role in the rebellion as the Mokingjay. Peeta, however, did not make it to 13. He was kidnapped by the Capitol and named victor of the 75th Hunger Games. They tortured him for information about the rebels, but he didn't have any as Haymitch told him nothing. After weeks of seeing Peeta on television, the rebels broke into Snow's mansion and freed him and Annie. Katniss relieved to see Peeta, but him not so much for her. He had been hijacked by the Capitol and believed that she was not trustworthy.

That's all I can share about the series so you guys better read it now. Go! It was so worth it.

Love,
